'Chala' is a historic market in the city of Trivandrum, India. 'Chala' is known for its buzzing streets (2km stretch) with product specific bye-lanes interspersed with historic settlements. The market and the people have a symbiotic relationship that makes it a living organism in the heart of the city. The walk would explore various dimensions of the market place - market as a place of exchange, market as a historical precinct, market as a cultural identity etc. The enthusiasts will be walking this 2km stretch and experiencing the various facets of Chala and meeting and discussing with people who are living there, selling there and sleeping there.
