3 Rides 3 ‘Hoods is a series of bike tours through North Chattanooga, Downtown, and St. Elmo. Riders will experience new perspectives on the city through stunning visuals, engaging conversations, and presentations by long-time residents and community leaders.

In North Chattanooga, riders will learn about future extensions of the Riverwalk and discuss urban design challenges and opportunities. The Downtown section will focus on the quality, comfort and safety of public space. After a lunch break at the Chattanooga Market, riders can continue south to St. Elmo where they will hear about neighbor-driven initiatives.

To encourage participants to connect with their surroundings, 3 Rides 3’Hoods will also include a “Never Noticed” photo contest. Ride participants can take photos of newly observed neighborhood features during the speaker stops and Instagram or Tweet their photos with the hashtags #3R3H and #JaneJacobsWalk by Wednesday, May 8th at noon. Three winners will be chosen and each will receive a copy of Jane Jacobs’ seminal work, The Death and Life of Great American Cities.

The Chattanooga Green Trips program is hosting the ride along with City Share, with support from BikeToursDirect (www.biketoursdirect.com). City Share invites participants to join them for a post-ride social at Moccasin Bend Brewing Company. Green Trips is funded in part by the federal Congestion Mitigation and Air Quality Improvement Program.
